PACE FORWARDING HANDLES 78-TONNE EXCAVATOR SHIPMENT FROM POLAND TO IVORY COAST
PACE Forwarding, member of Africa Logistics Network representing Poland, successfully coordinated the transport of a 78-tonne excavator from Lublin, Poland, to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, demonstrating its expertise in handling oversized industrial cargo across complex international routes.
When an Ivorian trader required the transportation of a massive excavator measuring 12 m x 4.4 m x 4 m, conventional container shipping was not a viable option due to the cargo’s exceptional dimensions.
To ensure a smooth operation, PACE Forwarding managed the shipment from start to finish. The first leg involved transporting the excavator by road from Lublin to the port of Antwerp using a 13-axle low loader. This phase required four weeks of detailed preparation, including route surveys, permit arrangements across multiple jurisdictions and coordinated police escorts through transit areas.
To optimise transport conditions, a second truck was arranged to carry the excavator’s buckets separately, ensuring compliance with transit requirements.
Once at the port of Antwerp, the cargo was loaded onto a Ro-Ro vessel bound for Abidjan, with full cargo insurance coverage in place throughout the journey.
PACE Forwarding also handled all required documentation from origin to destination, including export clearance, ECTN for Côte d’Ivoire, bills of lading and customs procedures, allowing the consignee to receive the cargo without delays.
