ABL DISSACO HANDLES MULTIMODAL SUGAR FACTORY PROJECT FROM FRANCE AND POLAND TO GERMANY
ABL Dissaco, member of Africa Logistics Network representing Belgium, successfully coordinated a complex multimodal transport operation involving oversized equipment for a sugar factory project, combining cargo movements from both France and Poland to Germany.
The shipment consisted of a stone catcher transported from Chelmza, Poland, and two large drum sections transported from the Saint Quentin area in France. The stone catcher measured 604 x 534 x 513 cm and weighed 22 tons, while the drum sections measured 1,126 x 507 x 526 cm (52.5 tons) and 1,080 x 510 x 527 cm (54 tons) respectively.

The Polish cargo was transported by truck from Chelmza to the barge port of Stepnica before continuing by barge to Anklam, Germany. Meanwhile, the drum sections were moved by truck from the Saint Quentin area to Rouvignies (Valenciennes), France, and then shipped by barge to the same destination.
Following months of planning, coordination and preparation among all parties involved, the multimodal transport operation was successfully executed, bringing together the different cargo components on a carefully synchronized route towards Anklam, Germany, where they were destined for the final end user.

ABL Dissaco expressed its appreciation to all companies and partners involved in the successful delivery of this out-of-gauge cargo project, highlighting the teamwork and coordination required to complete such a challenging transport operation.
