Cookies Policy
The Cookie Law (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2009:337:0011:0036:IT:PDF) is a piece of privacy legislation that requires websites to obtain consent from visitors to store or retrieve any information on a computer or any other web connected device, like a smartphone or tablet.
It has been designed to protect online privacy, by making consumers aware of how information about them is collected by websites, and enable them to choose whether or not they want to allow it to take place.
It started as an EU Directive that was adopted by all EU countries in May 2011. In Italy it was brought into law by an update of the Decreto Legislativo 69/2012 and 70/2012, and gets in force as of June 1st, 2012. Although each EU Country has its own approach and interpretation, the basic requirements are very similar across all EU members.
If you are based in the EU and own a website, or your site is outside the EU but targeted towards EU citizens, you are now expected to comply with the law.
However it is important to note that when we talk generally about cookies in context of the law, we are also talking about all of the similar technologies that perform the same function.
As for the cookies, officially the Italian jurisdiction passes from an opt-out regulation, that liberalizing them without discrimination, to an opt-in one, which requires the user to give a consent, without which cookies can not be activated, unless the use of these is necessary to provide the service required, as described in Article 2 n. 5 of the Directive. Every website that uses cookies, if not need to meet a specific request, must first obtain consent to store a cookie on a user or subscribers device.
According with the Implementation of January 31st, 2013 (http://www.ico.org.uk/news/current_topics/changes-to-cookies-on-our-website), today the Italian law is now more resilient and allows the use of cookies with informed consent can be expressed also with “specific configurations of computer programs or devices”, so the settings selected in the browser used to navigate.

What are Cookies?
“Cookies” are pieces of information that are transferred to your computer’s hard drive by a website. This is not about programs, but small text files, often encrypted and located in your browser directory, that allow websites to store and access information on the navigation performed by the user. Most major websites use cookies as they are part of the tools that will improve users’ browsing experience. Due to their core role of enhancing/enabling usability or site processes, disabling cookies may prevent users from using certain websites. Cookies are used in many different ways on the web, the vast majority of them beneficial to visitors. They act a bit like a form of memory for web pages, and help to personalise a users web experience. Cookies allow websites to offer personalized services (for example, remember access, store products in your shopping or show important content).
Cookies are NOT viruses. Cookies use a plain text format. They are not compiled pieces of code so they cannot be executed nor are they self-executing. Accordingly, they cannot make copies of themselves and spread to other networks to execute and replicate again.
Cookies placed by us, our commercial partners or other third parties when you visit this website, do not recognise you personally as an individual; they only recognise the device you are using. Cookies do not harm your device in any way but they do allow for several important features on the website. They also help to keep the website secure, remember your preferences and personalise content on the website so that it is more relevant to you.
If you haven’t already, set your browser to update automatically. This eliminates security vulnerabilities caused by outdated browsers. Many cookie-based exploits take advantage of older browsers’ security shortcomings.
Cookies can be used to act as a form of spyware by hackers. Install and keep antispyware applications updated.
If you share access on your computer, you may want to set your browser to clear private browsing data every time you close your browser. While not as secure as rejecting cookies outright, this option lets you access cookie-based websites while deleting any sensitive information after your browsing session.
Backing up your computer can give you the peace of mind that your files are safe.
There are different types of cookies: temporary (or session cookies), that are deleted automatically when the browser is closed, and persistent cookies, that are not deleted but remain until they are specifically deleted or until the expiration date defined by it.
First Party Cookies
We can send cookies to your computer. These cookies belong only to our website that created them. They are essential for the running of our website. Without these cookies, parts of our website would not function.
Session Cookies
Session Cookies are temporary cookies that expire at the end of a browser session, that is when you leave the site.
Webpages have no memories. A user going from page to page will be treated by the website as a completely new visitor. Session cookies enable the website you are visiting to keep track of your movement from page to page during your navigation session. They allow you to proceed through many pages of a site quickly and easily without having to authenticate or reprocess each new area you visit and allow you to access secure areas of the web site.
Session cookies allow users to be recognized within a website so any page changes or item or data selection you do is remembered from page to page. The most common example of this functionality is the shopping cart feature of any e-commerce site. When you visit one page of a catalog and select some items, the session cookie remembers your selection so your shopping cart will have the items you selected when you are ready to check out. Without session cookies, if you click CHECKOUT, the new page does not recognize your past activities on prior pages and your shopping cart will always be empty.
You must know that our Website never store your credentials if you leave the site. Everytime you came back, you need to insert your user and password again.
You can adjust your session cookies through the settings feature of your browser.
Persistant Cookies
In contrast to session cookies, persistant cookies are stored on your equipment between browsing session until expiry or deletion. They therefore enable the website to “recognise” you on your return, remember your preferences and tailor services to you.
We use performance cookies to remember how you have customised your use of this site, such as the languege you speak, your favorite font or your actual location. They change the appearance of the site according to your preferences. These cookies will remind your personal settings when you’ll visit this site next time (Preferences Cookies).
Performance Cookies
These cookies collect information about how you use the website (for instance which pages you visit most often and if you get error messages from web pages).
The information provided by these cookies allows us to analyse patterns of user behaviour and we use that information to enhance user experience or identify areas of the website which may require maintenance. The information is anonymous (it cannot be used to identify you and does not contain personal information such as your name and email address) and it is only used for statistical purposes.
Third Parties Cookies
Web analytics services may be designed and operated by third parties. We use Google Analytics.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a service provided by Google, using cooking to help us analyze how users use our website. The information generated by these cookies (including your truncated IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your, and other users’, use of our website, compiling reports for us on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and Internet usage. Behavioural Advertising Cookie
Behavioural advertising cookies, which may be placed on your device by us or our trusted third party service providers, remember that you have visited a website, and use that information to provide you with advertising which is tailored to your interests. This is often called online behavioural advertising (OBA) and is done by grouping together shared interests based upon web browsing history. Your web browsing history can be used to infer things about you (e.g. your age, gender etc.), and this information may also be used to make advertising on websites more relevant to you. Although behavioural advertising cookies can track your activity around the internet they cannot identify you personally, even if you are signed into our website. Without these cookies, online advertisements you encounter will be less relevant to you and your interests. Please check the third party websites for more information about their use of cookies.
How to manage or opt out of cookies
Due to their flexibility and the fact that many of the largest and most-visited websites use cookies by default, cookies are almost unavoidable.
However, some people find the idea of a website storing information on their device a little intrusive, in particular when the information is stored and used by a third party.
If you would prefer to opt out of cookies, it is possible to control cookies, but you should be aware that disabling cookies will lock a user out of many of the most widely-used sites on the Internet like Youtube, Gmail, Yahoo mail, and others.
In order to disable/enable cookies from your device, you will need to do this via your Internet browser.
Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies, but you can disable cookies if you wish, generally through changing your internet software browsing settings. In some cases, you can choose to accept cookies from the primary site, but block them from third parties. In others, you can block cookies from specific advertisers, or clear out all cookies. You can also object to being served advertising which is targeted to your interests based on your browsing history.
It may also be possible to configure your browser settings to notify you each time a new cookie is about to be stored on your computer enabling you to decide whether to accept or reject the cookie. Most browsers have built in privacy settings that provide differing levels of cookie acceptance, expiration time, and disposal after a user has visited a particular site.
To learn more about how to reject cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/ or go to the Help menu within your internet browser. If you experience any problems having deleted cookies, you should contact the supplier of your web browser.

If you would like to disable “third party” cookies generated by advertisers or providers of targeted advertising services, you can turn them off by going to the third party’s website and getting them to generate a one-time “no thanks” cookie that will stop any further cookies being written to your machine.
Another feature of most browsers is the incognito mode. You can browse in Incognito mode when you don’t want your website visits or your downloads are recorded in your browsing and download. All cookies created in Incognito mode are automatically deleted when you close all browser tabs.
Alternatively, your browser options contain the “Clear browsing data”. You can use it to delete cookies, data site and plug-ins, including the data stored on your device by Adobe Flash Player (Flash Cookies).
